From My Girlfriend

Oooophs! I'm not a lesbian... hahaha... Just keep on reading and know why I call her "My Girlfriend". :D

While I was reorganizing my room last weekend, I scanned the contents in my friendship box and one that really made me emotional that day was the following messages:

TO MY GIRLFRIENDS

Some people come into our lives and quickly go;
Some people move our souls to dance; they awaken us to new understanding

Friends share simple, ordinary times in our lives,
Moments that become memories that stay in our hearts forever
... And we will never, ever be the same.

Friendship is strange being...
It is by chance we met, by choice we became friends;
We find ourselves telling each other the deepest details of our lives,
things we don't even share with our families who raised us.

But what is a friend? A confidant? A lover? A fellow email junkie?
A shoulder to cry on? An ear to listen? A heart to feel?
A friend is ALL of these things and more;
No matter where we met, I call you "friend":
A word so small... yet so large in feeling... a word filled with emotions.

Once the package of friendship has been opened,
It can never be completely closed;
It is a constant book always waiting to be read... and enjoyed.

We may have disagreements,
We may argue, we may concern one another...
Friendship is a unique bond that lasts through it all.

A part of me is put into my friends: some is my humor, some is my listening ear,
Some is real life experience, some is my romanticism, but with all, it is FRIENDSHIP...
Thanks for making a difference in my life!

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for being a part of me, for brightening my days, for simply just being there. It's such a comfort and a real pleasure to know I have you girls around. You're one of the best gifts I've been blessed with. A s I will now be living with the reality of my dreams, I just want you all to know that I love you. I am here for you whenever and whatever happens. Nothing will ever change with this rich and resplendent friendship we're sharing. A s we continue to trot to this beautiful life, just always remember the lessons, not the pains, and that we have each other through the best and the worst. You take care of yourself, do things you enjoy, be the person that you wanted to be. Someday, somehow, you too will realize that nothing is impossible, that dreams do really come true. What are your favorite pastimes?

What are your favorite pastimes? Mine are reading magazines and books, blogging, joining discussions at social networking sites, jogging, belly dancing, surfing the net, meeting other people, watching movies & tv, sleeping and a lot more. These activities exposed me to new thoughts, ideas and lines that stick to my mind. Like for the series Grey's Anatomy. Was able to come up the following quote which I put together from one of the casts discussions:

We human beings need a lot of things to feel alive like family, love, friends, sex, material things and so on. But we only need one thing to actually be alive and it is a beating heart. When our heart is threatened, we respond in one or two ways. We either run or we attack. There is a scientific term for this - fight or flight. It's instinct. We can't control it or can we?

Also from the thread I created at blogcatalog discussion, What have you learned recently? . I got a lot of good replies there and the one that really striked in my mind was what newward shared that it's the fear of disappointment that prevents us from having high expectations. Very true right? She was able to realize that through the following quote the she stumbled across many times:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness,that frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous"? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Realizing that disappointment is caused by unmet expectations and disappointment is cured by revamped expectations lead me to create this topic at BC Discussions. And I'm glad a lot of blogcatalog users find this discussion really interesting that they shared their insights and what they've learned recently. And I must admit, I truly learned a lot from their replies. One statement that really strikes me is from newward. She said that, "I've learned that it's our fears that hold us back. It's the fear of disappointment that prevents us from having high expectations." Very true! And she shared the following inspiring words that she stumbled across many times:

8 Random Things About Me

For those who are interested to know more about me, be thankful to Mabel for tagging me to post 8 random thing about me...

1. The girl in my background pic is no other than me... and here's the original pic:

2. I''m cuddly, sweet, and a happy person!.... little things can make me happy... I love to smile and smile... and laugh and laugh and laugh hahahah! and just have fun with people... but hey, I know when to have fun, and I also know when to get serious... Here's my usual smile:

3. I love and enjoy listening to music though music hates me... hahaha... I belong to a family of singers but sadly I'm not one of them :( . I grew up believing to myself that I have a good voice 'coz my sibs and parents appreciated my voice when I was in my elementary grades. I was very confident that time singing infront of a crowd... I was shakened how terrible my voice was when I reached 18 when my Dad requested me to sing with him. During my turn, Dad whispered me "Ayaw na lang og kanta Jo! (means... better not sing Jo!)" hahaha... It was his very first time to hear me singing 'coz I stayed & studied high school far away from them... weeeehhh... that's when I realized how out of tune I am... hahaha... but it doesn't matter, 'coz i'm very good if comes to dancing... LOL

4. I have a lot of true and good friends and will be posting our pics here later on... But for now, I'll just introduce you my bestfriend, my eating partner, my chitchat chum, my playmate, my travelling bud, my colleague, my shopping buddy, my crying shoulder, one of my sources of happiness, and the list goes on... :) Her name is Margo and I miss her so much 'coz she's currently on leave to give birth early next month. 5. I've been hooked up reading inspirational books and reflecting about my life before going to bed. I make a point to do it every day even if I have only 20 or 30 minutes.

6. When I start feeling too busy like my life is spinning out of control, I automatically make time to pray and talk to Him even just a few minutes. It clears my mind and helps me to be more productive.

7. My top three favorite foods are ampalaya, peanuts and dark chocolates.
